We consulted Ladina Schopf - an interior designer, architect and founder of LS Projects - for her tips on how to select the right home. They evaluated the capacity of storage as well as layout, energy efficiency, and other factors.

Given that this fridge costs more, I'd expect higher quality.

This fridge is a great choice, despite the blip. It features a large freezer compartment which is uncommon for counter-depth French-door refrigerators. It also holds a lot of frozen food compared to other models.

Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The refrigerator compartment has 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is roughly on what you would expect from the size of a French door refrigerator that costs this much. It also has a decent-sized icemaker packed into the left door, but it's not the largest I've seen.

You can adjust the shelves in both compartments to create a the perfect storage solution. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is attractive. The LED lighting is an attractive feature. The bins for storage inside have a third shelf which can be folded down to store large items. The drawers have temperature controls, so you can set them to Beverage, Meat, or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, however I found their plastic textured coatings to be a bit rough on the fingers.

The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your fridge from anywhere in world, and has many options for customizing. It would be nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS came with Precise Fill which is an option that is available in a few other GE fridges that allow you to preset how many cups of water you'd like to dispense simultaneously. It does have an indicator on the display of the fridge to display how much water have remaining, but that's not as helpful as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

It is designed to look like a seamless part of your kitchen, Bosch's French-door refrigerator is one of a kind. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a vegetable compartment which keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer periods, and two compressors to preserve food items. The ice maker is one of the most efficient we've ever tested and produces a pyramid-shaped ice with a low use of water. This refrigerator is ideal for a single family or a kitchenette with an attractive design and top of the highest quality food preservation.

This refrigerator was rated as the best in our Refrigerators Test due to a variety of reasons. The freezer temperatures remained steady at just a few degrees Fahrenheit, and never fluctuating more than a fraction an inch. Bosch has a reputation for premium appliances, so it's no surprise that this counter-depth refrigerator is also a smart appliance, with the option of connecting to your home Wi-Fi and Bosch's Home Connect platform. The app lets you monitor and manage your fridge remotely using your smartphone or tablet. The refrigerator is costly and has great features and capabilities at a reasonable cost.

While the fridge is an amazing piece of equipment however, it is important to understand the limitations. You might need to be creative with tall objects because the fridge has a limited shelf space. The shelves are also not resistant to spills and are easily stained or damaged by sharp items. It is easy to take out the refrigerator trays however, you must clean them frequently to prevent mold growth.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth refrigerator is a great choice for those who need a lot of space in a small frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge features the standard French door design, with two rows of shelves that can be used to capture spills and a set crisper drawers. The top right shelf can be folded down to give tall items more room. There's also a full-width drawer to store deli items and an internal water dispenser.

This refrigerator is equipped with an ice maker making it simple to transfer frozen ice whenever you need it. The freezer features thoughtful design elements, too, like sliding drawers that can help you to organize the place of your items. It comes with a large bin for storing frozen food, and a separate bin for ice.

Another awesome feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. It lets you manage the refrigerator's temperature and lighting from your smartphone. It's a simple way to monitor your fridge and manage it, especially when you're not at home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat, but it doesn't necessarily improve the efficiency of the fridge. The fridge took a bit longer to chill food and defrost it than other models we tried. This could be due to the larger capacity.

Another issue with this refrigerator is its doors. The handles with a sunken design let shorter people open them from the bottom. However taller people have a hard time closing them without slamming. It would have been better if they had a front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a good choice for those who want to combine the benefits of a fridge with a French door with a more efficient layout. It has a capacity that is above average for counter-depth models, and it cools evenly. It's also a bit cheaper than the most expensive counter depth refrigerators that have an icemaker, which makes it a desirable choice.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a great choice for those looking for a French-door fridge that doesn't break the budget. It's a basic design that isn't as striking in appearance as some of the competition, but it has enough features to make it a good option. Its most important characteristic is the adjustable temperature drawer, which helps keep foods like veggies and meat fresher for longer. It also has a large water dispenser as well as a good ice maker that operates quickly.

The "Chill Drawer", which is situated over the two crisper bins, is a nice feature. The drawer allows you to divert part of the refrigerator's cooling power directly to this area, meaning you can store foods that need extra attention. This feature can be adjusted by using a slider on the outside of the drawer. It is also possible to use this to adjust the general cooling settings for the entire fridge but I've noticed that adjusting the general settings tends have a better effect than specific ones.

In my tests, I discovered that the temperatures in the refrigerator were fairly consistent in different parts of the fridge. Temperatures at the top and bottom of the fridge did not vary very far from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within a degree of 36. This is a great performance, but it does not quite make it to the top of our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be connected with a smart thermostat in order to gain more precise information on the internal temperature of your fridge.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's exterior is constructed of grey-bodied stainless steel that has a "smudge-proof" finish. It is capable of preventing streaks and fingerprints from appearing even when compared to the glossier stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
